Beach replenishment projects face costly setbacks when munitions are dredged ashore. Providing a simple solution to an expensive problem, the Dredger's Smart Pipe also known as the Electromagnetic Pipe Metal Detection Alarm System (EPMPAS) will alert its operator when metallic objects are traveling through a dredge's discharge pipeline. The system detects munitions, bomb fuses and other metallic objects.
